Please check your child’s folder.  They are bringing home their report card.  I am very proud of everyone and their progress.  Keep up the hard work.

Please also check their folder for their graded math paper.  We will keep working hard on problem solving!

Read! Read! Read!  This will improve fluency and comprehension!  Thanks for being such supportive families!

Busy Week!

This has been a busy, but fun week!  We have been to the park,  observed nature at our Nature Center,  planted sunflowers, and are watching our tadpoles!  Spring is such a fun season to observe changes!

In math we will continue reviewing previous skills and learn more about place value and comparing numbers!

In reading we are really working hard on our fluency and higher order questions.  We want to think and talk about books for a good understanding of what we are reading!

We are working on writing poems and stories about ourselves for a special surprise!

Park Day!

Tomorrow we will be leaving on the bus at 9:00am to go to Penic Park for the day.  Please remember to send a sac lunch (not a lunch box) and two drinks in the zip loc bag with the child’s name on the bags.  The lunch ladies will provide a sac lunch for them if you are unable to send something.  It will be charged to their lunch account.  Please have them dress in comfy clothes with tennis shoes.  You may want to apply sunscreen before they leave in the morning.  We will be having a picnic lunch, so please send a towel for them to sit on if you would like.  We will enjoy games, sidewalk chalk, and playground fun!

Thank you for coming to the Texas Project Based Learning Presentation. Please enjoy the Smilebox videos and pictures of our event! The kids enjoyed researching the animals, terrain, animal habitats, and weather of the Texas Panhandle. They made choices to share their voices with the information that they learned.

PBL Texas Project will be tomorrow on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:45 in our classroom.

Tomorrow the students will read their T is for Texas interactive writing book.  They adapted this book from the story we read called L is for Lone Star.
They will then break out into their groups to show their projects that they created from their research and study of the Panhandle Region of Texas.

We hope to see you here to share our work with you!

There is an important note and zip-loc bag that tells about a mini field trip we will take next week.  Please read!
