Don’t forget that we have an early release tomorrow at 11:oo am for parent/teacher conferences.

We had a fun day and had earned all of our 15 jewels for classroom behavior!  As our treat we went to the Nature Center to view the changes and discuss our senses!  We also enjoyed reading our library books outside!  Yeah!  We earned those jewels last Thursday and we already have 8 for the next group of 15!  Keep being a Roughneck Champ!

Wow!  It has been a busy week.  We have learned about teeth.  A special dental hygienist will visit us on Friday to share how we can better take care of our teeth.  The Masonic Lodge donated a bag full of goodies to help us do that!  We can’t wait to see what we learn tomorrow from Mrs. Sipes and our Masonic friends!

Next week we will launch into learning about our great state, TEXAS!  Our reader’s theater will be April 3, 2012 at 6:00 for our parents to hear all about the things we think are great about TEXAS!

We are reading about two great Presidents from the past.  George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were our first and sixteenth presidents.

How are Washington and Lincoln alike?

Valentine Party

Mark your calendar!  We will have our party on Valentine’s Day!  It will be held in our classroom from 11:30-12:30.  Mrs. Carter is in the process of calling parents from the pink volunteer list that wanted to help.  If you did not complete that paper at the beginning of the year and would like to help then write me a note in your child’s planner.  We need help with items being sent as well as help in the classroom during the party.  We would love for you to help in anyway that you would like!

Don’t forget to help your child create a Valentine box.  This will be where their classmates deliver their Valentine cards.  Just have them bring it by Friday of this week.  I hope you have a great time creating this box with your child!  It is always a fun memory!

Please also take a look at the calendar above.  There are many upcoming dates that you will want to write down.
