I learned about math. We have been learning to add and subtract. Subtraction is taking away.
Please sign and return the conference note that is in your child’s planner. I would be more than happy to have a conference with you if you have any questions or concerns. You do not have to have a conference if you feel they are doing well and you don’t have any concerns or questions about their academic performance or social issues in the classroom. I have added notes on the conference sheet to let you know how your child is doing in their academic and social areas in school at this time.
We are working on learning how to add a string of numbers. Please check their folder for an example of what your child is learning in math.
Reading/Writing: We will be working on learning the various ways to write and read long i words. We will also be reading and writing to understand “author’s purpose”. An author writes to entertain, persuade, or inform. During this week we will explore these types of writing and then write some ourselves.
Spelling: long, little, very, after, words
Math: Addition Combinations/Problem Solving/Number Sense
Science: States of Matter
Solids, Liquids, and Gases
I will be at a Reading Conference on Monday and Tuesday. You may write notes of any changes in transportation in your child’s planner and/or call and leave a message on my school phone. My substitute will look for these changes. I hope you all have a great week! I will see you on Wednesday!
