I had some questions about the Seesaw app. If you highlight the link in the previous blog post and copy and paste it into the address bar it will take you to a page that you will need to create an account. If that is not working I am also going to send out a QR code tomorrow and I hope it will make it a little easier to register! Thank you and I hope you enjoy this app!

We will go to our school library every other Wednesday! Tomorrow is our day! We will get to keep our book for two weeks to enjoy! Please remind your student to read their book, but that it would be a good idea to put it back in their backpack when they have finished enjoying it! This will assure that they have it on the correct Wednesday in order to be able to exchange it for a new book! Thank you!

We are learning to sequence stories we read. We are learning to apply that to writing. In this activity the students sequenced the picture cards and wrote a story using first, next, then, and finally. They had to work as a group to help plan, write, revise, and edit. They then published their work on the seesaw app. You can go to that app to comment on your student’s work!

The following is a letter explaining a new app that will give you insight to your child’s activities and learning each day.  They post work and you will get an email.

Dear Parents,

This year we’re going to use a new tool to share what we’re learning in class called Seesaw. Your child will have his or her own learning journal, and you can get notified when your child adds new items. It’s completely private — only you can see your child’s journal outside of class.

Click on https://app.seesaw.me/s/485-027-077 to sign up — it takes just 30 seconds.

Once you sign up, you can download the Seesaw Parent app for iPhone or Android, or access your child’s journal on the web.

The kids are super excited and have already downloaded some of their work.  They are patiently waiting for you to be able to view, like, and even comment on their work in stations, reading, math, and all they are doing in the classroom.  Sometimes if we do something as a class we will share it on all of the student journal blogs.

Tuesday you are invited to a parent/teacher orientation.  A letter was posted and sent home.  We would love to see you there!

Wednesday we will have pictures.  This picture is for the yearbook, so each child will have their picture taken!
