We are writing a class story about a polar bear. We are researching facts in books and the internet.
The students have been reading fiction books that incorporate facts. We will write a book that is a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. Please look for it on our website. We are using facts4me.com for some of our research.

We are working fluency in reading. We read like we talk.
First Graders need to be reading a level 16 at 60 wpm by the end of the school year.

We are learning to write thank you letter.
The students are writing letters. We will be starting Wee Deliver very soon. The students will write letters to other teachers and students in the Primary School and send them through our very own postal system. This is a great opportunity to give the students a neat way to practice their reading and writing skills.
