Christmas Traditons

We are Seesaw blogging with classrooms from New Zealand and Croatia. The students in New Zealand and our students are already beginning to compare and contrast traditions in both places. If you have any pictures of specific traditions you do and would like to send them in a message I will let your student post it on their blog and explain it to our friends around the world. For example, I would take a picture of our class tree and the kids could explain the things we use to decorate it. We are learning that they don’t decorate with lights on their houses, but they do have trees. The kids are so excited to learn about these other cultures and traditions. Thank you in advance!

Mystery Skype

On Friday our class met knew friends in another state!  They Skyped us and we played a game that made us use our inference skills, question skills, writing skills, reasoning skills, listening skills, and the list goes on.  The students had to ask questions using a map to figure out where our out of state friends lived.  Do you border an ocean?  How many states do you border? Do you live in the north?  We realized as a class that as our questions were answered that we needed to decide how our questions would then need to change.  The other class also asked us questions.  We now have friends in a school in Georgia.  Fun while learning!
