Please join us for our Christmas party tomorrow from 9:00am to 10:00am!  Parents are welcome to come help set up the room from 8:30am until the party starts at 9:00am!  You may sign your child out with me if you want to take them after the party.  If they stay they will be served lunch at 10:20 and we will have early release at 11:00.

The students will be coming home with a gift for you with a letter!  It is BREAKABLE, so please ask them to take it out of their Christmas bag when they get home!  I hope you enjoy!

I have told the students that I will give them tickets for reading over the break.  They will receive five tickets if they write down five books or chapters that they read and you have signed the planner. The will not have their reading logs.  They can just write this in their planners.  Thanks for helping and supporting their reading!

I hope each and every family has a wonderful holiday break, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Christmas Party Gift Addition

Hello Parents,

There was a suggestion of adding the Penny Christmas idea to our party.  If your child would like to participate have them bring 21 small items to pass out like a Secret Santa.  The items could be a small piece of candy, cookie, pencil, sticker, or even a homemade item.  They will get to secretly put it in each child’s bag and it will be revealed on the day of the party.  This is a way for the kids to be a part of giving this Christmas.  Books have already been brought, so in order to play that exchange game each child would need to still bring a book as well.  I would put a limit of $5 on the book if adding the Penny Christmas gift.  Please have these items brought to school by this next week.  Thank you for helping these children have a great Christmas party.

Thanks,
Brandi Barlow

Dear Parents,

It is finally December and our Christmas party is just around the corner. Mrs. Hidalgo has graciously chosen to help with this party. I am sending her names of parents that asked to help or send items! She will be contacting you soon. We will be having a book exchange for our class this year. Please purchase a book with a limit of $10 or less that would be appropriate for a boy or girl in 2nd grade. Please wrap it and send it to school by next week. Our party will be on December 20, 2013 from 9am to 10am. The parents can come to help decorate and set up at 8:30am. We look forward to spending time with you on this day if you can make it! Please contact me by phone or email if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Brandi Barlow
